The Sprout Guide to Wellbeing was a year long university project in answer to a research question, ‘How can the benefits of nature for mental health be promoted through graphic design?’. The small description on the back of the printed book outcome reads: ‘The Sprout Guide has been created to promote the benefits of spending time outdoors in nature for wellbeing. This book includes colouring pages and inspiration for mindful activities.’
The Sprout Guide was designed to encourage people to explore the natural world and reap the benefits of going outside, getting fresh air, surrounded by greenery in order to alleviate the everyday stress which comes from busy urban-centred lives.
As a designer, I am determined to creating experiences which bring joy through human centred design inspired by nature. I have focused on encapsulating doses of happiness into my work through vibrant colour, playful illustration and thoughtful typography in the Sprout Guide.
